Like many of us, Shirley, one of the participants at the Waverly Center, is very interested in current events and local news stories. She enjoys turning these stories into funny works of fiction by elaborating on the story, and imagining her own characters and events based upon the original story.
Recently a student at a local residential facility left campus without permission, and the authorities were searching for him. The unfolding story caught Shirley’s attention, and she changed the story to be about how the “police were searching for a robber.” Acting as a sketch artist, Shirley drew this picture to help the police identify the culprit:
